The
office of the Linn County Recorder was created in 1839 by the first
Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Iowa. The Recorder
continues to maintain official records of documents affecting title
to real estate. In addition, thousands of hunting and fishing
licenses are issued annually and boats, snowmobiles, and ATVs are
registered.

page plus $4.00 per transaction surcharge. Deeds require an additional
auditor's transfer fee of $5.00 per parcel.
